Pelindo III all set to develop cruise

PT Pelabuhan Indonesia, a state-owned port operator, (Pelindo III) that deals with port facilities in eastern and central parts of Indonesia, programs to build a whole new terminal at the Labuan Bajo port in the East Nusa Tenggara just dedicated for cruise ships and yachts next year.

Djarwo Surjanto, Pelindo III president director, said that tourism potential in the East Nusa Tenggara and West Nusa Tenggara is growing and they want to support the development of the area. They want to prepare facilities for an expected increase in traffic in cruise ships and yachts, particularly in Labuan Bajo
Djarwo added that the company anticipated to finish the whole engineering design as well as land acquisition earlier this year and started the structure of the terminal in early 2016. They need to acquire at least fifty hectares of land to construct the terminal. The construction would take around 2 years to complete. 2017 America’s Cup World Series Qualifier Races To Be Held At Gothenburg

It was announced very recently that Gothenburg will hold 2017 America’s Cup World Series qualifier races. The announcement was made one day after it was announced that Portsmouth will host two of the qualifier races of the event. The races will be held at Gothenburg next year in the month of August.

The race is regarded as the most prestigious Yachting competition. The race was first held in the year 1851. No other sporting trophy is as old as America’s Cup.

Artemis Racing, the Swedish professional America’s Cup team is based in Gothenburg.  The manager of Artemis Racing, Ian Percy said that he is very excited to be able to make the announcement that America’s Cup World Series qualifier races are going to be held in Sweden in the coming year. He considers it to be a great chance to exhibit the sport of sailing and also the prestigious event. Fredrik Loof, the Artemis Team tactician who also won medals three times in Olympics has said that there is much enthusiasm in the group at the moment and he is also hopeful that his countrymen will turn up in large numbers at the event and support the team. He also said that they intend to show their capabilities.

The 2017 America’s Cup World Series will be the 35th edition of the event. The upcoming edition of the race will feature the new AC45 Yachts which Ben Ainslie, regarded as one of the greatest British Sailors has said, are faster than the previous ones and are also more exciting.

The Gothenburg races will take place on the Gota River either at Langedrag or near the City Centre. Frihamnen will be the race village. In the 2013 America’s Cup World series the American team Oracle made a huge comeback. They were behind New Zealand 8-1 but they went on to become victorious 9-8.
